When you do decide to come to your first Capoeira class, here are a few things you will need.

• Loose Fitting Clothes – Many Capoeira Teachers sell Abadas or Capoeira pants and t-shirts that  will compromise your uniform, but for that first day, all you will need are some loose fitting clothes that will allow you to move without falling apart.

• A Towel – You will sweat, so do yourself a favor, and bring a towel so you or your fellow capoeiristas wont slip

• Water – You’ll be thirsty

• An Open Mind, and a willingness to be in a new situation learning something that might be quite foreign to the way you “normally” move.

That’s it. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone in you’re class, no matter how accomplished, started out in a similar fashion to you, so there is no need to be embarrassed.  By simply allowing yourself to become immersed into the Capoeira world, you will soon get to know this vibrant community that exists here in Kansas City.
